Week 8 Recap - "Scott's still in the pool?!"

Congrats this week go to Scott for his first victory since the LBJ administration. Scott has been confident lately that his chances for a weekly win were improving. The Peyton Manning quilt he has been working on since the preseason is finally finished so Scott picked up 3-4 hours of free time per day. He has been able to use some of that time to research football games and it evidently paid off. My brother Dan finished in 2nd and proved that despite his betting record this year, he still does know a little something about football. Vegan Diesel finishes in 3rd just ahead of Roger Benson.

To the left is a picture of Kevin Hill that was taken shortly after the season standings were posted on Monday night. Kevin started the week in a tie for 15th place, only 23 pts out of first place. Unfortunately for Kevin, he did not get his picks entered and got random picks for the week. Many times when this happens, a person will do okay and there has even been a couple of occasions where random picks win. This was not one of those cases. In a week where the winner scored 109 points and the average score was around 90 points, Kevin scored 33. That's right, 33 pts. Not only was this a historically low score, it came with a punishing fall down the standings. How punishing? Would a loss of 20 spots seem bad? Well, it's worse than that. How about 30? It can't possibly worse than 30 spots. Yep, it's worse. 40!? Could he have really fallen 40 spots? Yep, in fact Kevin fell 44 spots and currently resides in 59th place in the bowels of the SWS with cretants such as Da Mush and Rally Matt. The poor kid never knew what hit him.

In the survivor pool, we are now down to 23 people and I predict some things might shake out in the next couple of weeks.

I wish you all the worst of luck in the pool this week.

That is all.

Commish
