In a perfect storm of good picks, good games, and holiday visits, Week 16 brought about much screaming at the TV in our Portland household. If Minnesota won the Monday game, Destructinators would take their 2nd win of the season. If the Bears won, MJCrankyP would win the week. Those two were at each other's throats all day. At one point, we had to strap on padded helmets and pugle sticks to relieve the tension. I, Dougey-Fresh, remained free to drink good beer and bask in the limelight of a guaranteed 2nd place. With a Bears win, Dawn/Joy (Mom's of Destructinators and MJCrankyP) could take 3rd if it was a high scoring game.
What a great game it was! It's weeks like this one that keep us all coming back to the pool. In the end, MJ took 1st for the week... He plans to buy some new crayons and maybe one of the hot girl action figures from GI Joe. The rest will go into his 529 College Savings Plan. Dougey-Fresh took 2nd- that money was already spent on imported beer before the game began. Dawn/Joy took 3rd, with a heartbreaking TB win over Mickey. Dawn/Joy plans to buy one of those new Domino's pizzas. Mickey took 4th- I heard something about a mouse-ears hat now being in the budget. And Jeff Tina Beyler rounded out the top 5.
In the Survivor pool, E-Z finally fell out, leaving just four to vie for the coveted sole-survivor spot.
On the season, Rick falls flat and Kelly H falls less-flat, taking a 3 point lead. Ellie maintains 3rd place. It's very tight in the top 3, and anything can happen in the last week. MJCrankyP moves into 4th with his win this week, hoping to make enough cash for another 4 hours in college- by the time he gets there it will be 2026. It really is going to be a good finish- Anyone in the top 10 still has a chance at money on the season.
